    This beautiful hotel is opulent and probably the most relaxing and comfortable venue I have ever enjoyed. Food superb, service excellent and value most definitely.I won't find any other venue to match this. The grounds are magnificent too. Can't wait for next visit!

    THE best dining experience !

    As part of our anniversary we had dinner on 23 December and it was a complete 5 star experience in every department. We had pre dinner drinks in the yellow room which is a lovely place to ponder what is ahead and where we chose our food before being taken through to what was a spectacular dining room where very attentive and genuinely friendly staff made it a meal to savour and remember. The ambience, quality of food and staff who were interested in you as people and even a nice touch of asking what our occasion was to celebrate, made it without doubt a faultless evening. I am being honest in saying there was so much to savour and take in that if I covered everything would turn into a novel. Perhaps it is easier to commend this place to you, if you can, to make a booking and drink in the complete experience that we had the luxury to enjoy. We will be back.

Glamorous British restaurant in south side

Rhubarb is a lavish fine dining restaurant within the luxurious Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh’s south side. Set within twenty acres of parkland and gardens, the restaurant provides visitors with a true sense of escape from the city buzz. Rhubarb uses the best Scottish produce and sources from artisan suppliers to offer a range of skilfully prepared gourmet dishes with innovative flavour combinations. Decadent dining in opulent surroundings

The menu at Rhubarb has a very British focus and does change with the seasons and availability of their carefully sourced ingredients. An idea of some dishes that may be on offer include hand-dived scallops with cauliflower puree, lovage, chorizo, apple & truffle dressing and confit lemon; the roast loin of Strathspey red deer with black pudding, red cabbage puree and an Arran mustard & potato mousse or the roast parsnip tortellini and sauteed leeks with white truffle oil, confit free-range egg yolk, winter chanterelles and a Comté cheese sauce.

South side accessibility & transport links

Rhubarb is in the five star Prestonfield House hotel and has ample on-site parking for guests travelling by car. The restaurant is around a five minute taxi ride from Edinburgh Waverley train station and some bus stops are within walking distance of the estate. Diners who will be arriving by helicopter are welcome to do so but must inform the hotel in advance.
